# How long does a home appraisal take?

**There is no single standard timeline for every residential appraisal. Timing depends on the property's type and complexity, the intended use, access, available records, and deadline. Ask for an estimate after the address and requested scope are reviewed.**

## What can affect the schedule

- Property type, size, and complexity
- Whether access and any needed inspection can be arranged
- The intended use and effective date
- Available plans, records, and property information
- The deadline and any third-party requirements

## Ask early when a date matters

If a closing, hearing, estate task, or other decision has a date, share it before work begins. A deadline does not guarantee availability, but it lets Alex assess whether the requested scope and timing are workable.

Do not rely on a general online estimate as a commitment. Timing is confirmed for the individual assignment after scope is understood.
